Healing Mass at Saint Mary’s

Our Lord wants to heal us. This is why He “…has willed that His Church continue,
in the power of the Holy Spirit, His work of healing” (CCC 1421). 

While every Mass heals spiritually through the Holy Eucharist, special healing Masses focus on restoring health through the Holy Spirit. These Masses include liturgical prayers, Scripture readings, and energetic worship songs. Participants are individually prayed over by the celebrant and a prayer team, with requests kept confidential. The Holy Spirit can cause people to experience an overwhelming awareness, known as "resting in the Spirit." Healing can be physical, spiritual, or emotional, happening suddenly or gradually.

Perseverance in prayer is needed, as healing may happen differently than expected. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI stated that healing is essential to Christianity's mission.
